“Road to Valhalla” caught my attention at NYCC 23, and the first thing that grabbed me was the striking cover art by Hector Rodriguez. It’s undeniably cool! Naturally, I was compelled to check out the book and had the pleasure of meeting the creators. It was an awesome experience, and they shared the backstory of the comic. Being a fan of Viking tales, I couldn’t resist picking up all three books in the series, and the fact that they autographed them made it even more special. So, first and foremost, thanks for the fantastic time and the opportunity to chat with you guys.
After diving into the first installment of “Road to Valhalla,” I found it to be an enjoyable read. It seems like the story is gradually building up to something more significant in issue #2. Admittedly, it had a bit of a slow start, but it’s clearly on the upswing. While there might not be extensive character development, they do provide some insight into the characters, and I understand that this is a three-book series with potential for continuation. Hence, I wasn’t expecting an extensive character backstory. The way issue 1 concluded left me with a sense that it’s just the beginning of something truly remarkable, and I’m eagerly anticipating reading issue #2!
Now, let’s talk about the artwork. It’s nothing short of AWESOME! I’m a huge fan of art, and it looks incredible. The level of detail is impressive, and it’s evident that a lot of care went into creating this book. Kudos to the entire team for their exceptional work.
I’m genuinely excited about delving into issue #2 and can’t wait to see where the story takes us next.
