The ongoing narrative of the Rek Rap mystery and Limbo’s pursuit of the wall crawlers unfolds in this latest installment. Regrettably, this particular story arc has failed to resonate positively with my sentiments. Despite the significant momentum that Amazing Spider-Man (ASM) had previously gained, the current arc seems to be a hindrance to its overall appeal.
While I acknowledge the narrative purpose of building towards the anticipated Gang War, the current arc comes across as filler material that lacks the substance and engagement I had hoped for. The attempts at humor within Rek Rap fall flat, veering towards a rather corny execution. Moreover, readers should not anticipate a significant amount of action in this particular issue.
On a commendable note, Ed McGuiness excels in delivering exceptional artistry, showcasing some of the finest Spider-Man illustrations to date. As an ardent Spider-Man enthusiast, I remain committed to following the series. However, for prospective new readers, I would advise considering bypassing this arc. The lead-up to the Gang War appears to be somewhat lackluster, rendering this installment more of a filler episode that may not justify the investment of your time. In summary, I recommend skipping this particular issue.
