So, straight from the pages of “End of the Spiderverse,” we’ve got Spider Boy, aka Bailey Briggs! The story kicks off with a cool team-up between Spider-Man and Spider Boy. It’s a fun start as Spider Boy grapples with the challenges of being a hero.
In this town, Spider-Man is a hero people worship, but Spider Boy is seen as some kind of monster. The comic takes us back to how Spider Boy came to be and introduces the main villain, Madame Monstrosity. We get to see what life was like for Spider Boy before he became a hero. Spider-Man tries to help Spider Boy get some positive press, but, well, things don’t go as smoothly as planned.
There’s a showdown with an elephant-like creature, which happens to be an old friend of Spider Boy’s who was also held captive. All in all, it’s a pretty fun #1 issue. It’s got a good mix of humor and action. But personally, it didn’t quite grab me.
Still, that’s just my take, and it doesn’t mean the comic isn’t worth checking out. Dan Slott does a great job delivering an enjoyable and light-hearted superhero story, so if you’re looking for something fun, this might be right up your alley!
